The MARC JACOBS Fall/Winter 2022 runway show took place at 7:30 PM New York time on July 29, 2022.

The venue, as last year, was the New York Public Library. The show's theme was "Choice," inspired by Nietzsche's words, "Art exists to prevent truth from perishing." Marc Jacobs expressed his belief that, "In a world of ever-changing resource environments, unexpected obstacles, and frenzied digitalization of new standards of reality, I am unwavering in my belief that creativity is a necessity for life. We have choices in a world where violence and ugliness continue daily, surrounded by isolated yet indestructible walls." This vision was embodied in the creations.

The collection featured 42 models, including both men and women, including Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner, all familiar faces from Mark's shows. The collection fully expressed Mark's play with materials and silhouettes, which he has always been good at, with innovative use of materials and exaggerated voluminous silhouettes.

The collection showcased Mark's signature style, combining exaggerated volume with compact silhouettes, such as voluminous bottoms paired with tiny tops, and oversized suits paired with corsets. The color palette featured elegant yet sweet pastels, sharp black and white, and vibrant blues and pinks, making for a striking and powerful palette.
In addition, this show featured a first-of-its-kind livestream, hijacking the towers and vision screens surrounding New York City's Times Square.
