The world of Saihate Tahi's latest poetry collection, "The Seam of Love is Here," is now available at Ogikubo bookstore Title

Event Date:2017.09.23-10.09
Oct 9, 2017

To celebrate the publication of poet Saihate Tahi's new poetry collection, "The Seam of Love Is Here," an exhibition titled "Saihate Tahi 'The Seam of Love Is Here' -- A Poetry Exhibition" is running through October 9th at the second-floor gallery of the bookstore Title in Ogikubo, Tokyo.

This work marks the final installment of a trilogy of poetry collections, following "For Us Who Are Going to Die," winner of the 33rd Contemporary Poetry Hanatsubaki Award, and "The Night Sky Is Always the Deepest Blue," which was adapted into a film. Saihate has published poems, novels, and essays in rapid succession, and is a versatile artist who has pioneered a "new era of poetry" through a wide range of media, including books, social media, and the internet.

The exhibition features fabric prints of Saihate's poems and a collaboration with graphic designer Shun Sasaki, who designed the book. The works that flicker in the gallery space become "seams" of words and design, weaving together new "verbal experiences."

Also, during the period, signed copies of the poetry collections "The Seam of Love is Here," "The Night Sky is Always the Deepest Blue," and "For Us Who Will Die" will be on sale. In addition, purchasers of the new book "The Seam of Love is Here" will receive a "Postcard of Death" (limited quantity) as a special gift. Other original goods planned for sale include handkerchiefs and tenugui towels with designs by Sasaki of Saihate's poems.
