IDEE is holding a "POOL and Iris Academy" exhibition at three stores starting October 13th.


POOL is an initiative launched by IDEE in 2015, supervised by Akira Minagawa of minä perhonen. It collects scraps and offcuts from MUJI's manufacturing process, as well as products that are no longer suitable for sale due to scratches or stains that occur during distribution. By connecting with various companies and creators, the project repurposes these products into new, valuable products.



Shobu Gakuen is a support facility for the intellectually disabled located in the northern suburbs of Kagoshima City, established in 1973. Large trees grow freely on the spacious grounds, and buildings of various designs stand among them. Approximately 130 residents and 100 staff members live and work in this pleasant, town-like setting. Shobu Gakuen has workshops for wood, earth, fabric, and paper, and also grows vegetables. The park also has a bakery, cafe, and soba restaurant, all of which are open to the public, attracting many visitors from outside the prefecture.



This project will feature works created by Shobu Gakuen users in their daily activities, as well as products created in collaboration with the pool, which will be exhibited and sold in three stores.
