Comme des Garçons to host "black market"-themed pop-up, featuring Rei Kawakubo's elusive furniture series

COMME des GARÇONS is running a "black market"-themed pop-up shop, "black market COMME des GARÇONS," at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store until October 9th. This is the first time the pop-up has been held at a department store nationwide. It will feature reproductions of archive designs by Rei Kawakubo released in the 1990s, as well as limited-edition apparel and interior goods, along with over 30 other limited-edition black items. The lineup includes the "ARCHIVE T-SHIRT1" (12,500 yen) and "ARCHIVE T-SHIRT2" (9,500 yen), faithful reproductions of classic T-shirts produced in 1991, the popular PVC craft paper bag in a limited edition black color (10,500 yen), a tote bag accented with a large buckle (6,000 yen), the highly popular "ALPHA MA-1" (68,000 yen), and the "ARCHIVE CHAIR1" (95,000 yen) from the legendary furniture series designed by Rei Kawakubo in the 1980s. Additionally, the "HOLE SWEATER" (35,000 yen), a reproduction of the legendary knitwear, and new items "MOUNTAIN PARKER" (34,000 yen) and "SHELLPARKER" (24,000 yen) will be unveiled for the first time in the world.
