This summer marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Hong Kong Tourism Board is running a campaign titled "Summer Fun" to introduce recommended tourist spots. FASHION HEADLINE will be bringing you the latest in Hong Kong cuisine, shopping, and other tourist information. We'll share the hottest news we found in Hong Kong, a three-and-a-half-hour flight from Tokyo!
The Central Station area on Hong Kong Island is one of the world's leading business districts, and is also home to some of Hong Kong's oldest streets and historic buildings. What's more, it's also currently garnering a lot of attention from Instagrammers. This is because the area is home to a wealth of unique photo spots, including street art, so you can find endless inspiration just by strolling around the city. Grab your camera or smartphone and head straight to Hollywood Road!
The cobblestone road that appears against the backdrop of skyscrapers is Pottinger Street, said to be Hong Kong's oldest road. Apparently, this street began as a flat, level road to make it easier for peddlers carrying large loads. Now, sewing and party goods shops line both sides of the street, creating a slightly mysterious atmosphere. Take photos of the slowly changing scenery as you walk up the stairs.

Next, we head to the Fringe Club, a brick building with a distinctive border pattern built over 100 years ago. Today, the area is utilized as an art space, featuring a stylish cafe bar, concert hall, and gallery. We recommend taking photos with the cylindrical wall facing the Lower Albert Road intersection as a backdrop.

Back to Hollywood Road to photograph street art. Galleries dot the area, and this art-loving neighborhood is home to artworks not only on the main street but also on every sidewalk. Hong Kong cityscapes are painted on the slopes, old Hollywood stars are painted across the entire walls of an antique shop, and a woman's face smiling enthusiastically against the pink walls of a Brazilian restaurant. The vivid colors are also striking!

Hong Kong, ranked as one of the safest places in Asia, is also perfect for solo travelers and women traveling together. A stroll through the cityscape, showcasing a blend of Eastern and Western cultures, will fully capture your sense of exoticism. If you get tired of walking, take a break with a cup of their famous sugarcane juice at Kong Li in the Central shopping district. The retro tiled building and the giant, aged tea kettle (or jar?) inside are truly photogenic! I quenched my thirst with the gently sweet juice, immersed in the feeling of traveling back in time.
