British rubber boots brand Hunter to launch in Japan with Itochu next spring

Jul 7, 2014

ITOCHU announced that it has established Hunter Japan Co., Ltd. with Hunter Boot Limited, headquartered in Edinburgh, UK, and will begin selling the British rubber boot brand "HUNTER" in Japan from Spring/Summer 2015.
Hunter was founded in the UK in 1856 and released the "Original Green Wellington" boots in 1956. Today, the company still handcrafts its boots using the same last and 28 components used in 1956, and has been granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.
In February 2014, with the aim of becoming an international lifestyle brand, ITOCHU unveiled its new collection, "Hunter Original," at London Fashion Week, expanding its lineup to include outerwear, knitwear, and accessories in addition to footwear.
Going forward, footwear will be sold in Japan through ITOCHU Home Fashion, and apparel, bags, and accessories will be sold through Coronet. Specific sales plans will be announced in due course.
