Police releases sinful handcuff-shaped fragrance inspired by erotic novels

Jul 19, 2014

Italian lifestyle brand POLICE will release a new men's fragrance, "The Sinner Eau de Toilette" (5,100 yen), on August 30th. The brand name "The Sinner" is inspired by the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," written by a British housewife and becoming a global hit. The story follows a college student heroine who becomes involved in a perverse relationship with the young CEO of a major corporation. A film adaptation was also released in 2015. The Sinner embodies a powerful, sexual fragrance for those who transcend morality and ethics and take risks. The aromatic fougère fragrance features top notes of refreshing citrus fruits blended with spicy cardamom and black pepper, followed by middle notes of lavender and nutmeg, and finished with a base note of musk, sandalwood, and incense.

The bottle, filled with dark blue liquid, has been carefully designed to resemble handcuffs after repeated trial and error. Details are yet to be decided, but a women's fragrance with a striking pink bottle is also planned for release.
