The first store in the history of porcelain manufacturer Richard Ginori, located on Via de' Rondinelli 17/R, Florence, reopened on June 18th. Renovations have been underway since Gucci acquired the brand in April 2013.
A cocktail party was held on the same day as Pitti Immagine Uomo, a global men's fashion exhibition, as part of the "Florence Hometown of Fashion" event, which brought together brands from Florence. Many people, including locals, flocked to the store to celebrate the opening of the new Richard Ginori flagship store. The newly renovated shop opened in 1802, before the Ginori family's Doccia kiln merged with Milan's Richard Porcelain, and displays a collection that evokes the long history of the company, dating back approximately 280 years since Marquis Carlo Ginori founded the porcelain kiln and approximately 120 years since Richard Ginori was established. The interior also incorporates white porcelain ornaments and tableware, beloved as Vecchio White, as well as archives from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Along with the Gucci Museo, which opened in 2011, this historic relaunch of tableware, a source of pride for Florence and deeply rooted in Italian life, is sure to make the store a new landmark in Florence.
