Shiseido will pre-release the global brand SHISEIDO's new beauty serum, Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (hereafter referred to as Ultimune) (30ml/8,000 yen, 50ml/12,000 yen) at Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda Main Stores on July 30th.
To commemorate the release, Belgian fashion designer Véronique Branquinho has designed uniforms to be worn by approximately 1,600 beauty consultants at Shiseido counters in department stores across Japan. The design, which was used on a shirt dress in a look from her own brand Véronique Branquinho's Spring/Summer 2014 collection, has been redesigned into a blouse featuring Ultimune's vibrant red bottle as a motif. "I specially recreated this piece for this collaboration in Shiseido's brand color, red," Véronique said. "Crimson represents tradition, purity, and eternity, and is an important element of my work." Born in Brussels, Belgium in 1973, Véronique graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1995 and has been participating in Paris Fashion Week since 1997. The brand temporarily closed in 2009 for financial reasons but was revived in 2012. She is the former girlfriend of Raf Simons, who currently works for Dior. Ultimune was announced by Shiseido's new president, Masahiko Uotani, at a press conference held in April 2014. Formulated with unique ingredients developed through over 20 years of skin research, it boosts the skin's natural immunity, leading to skin that is more resistant to damage. It will be available worldwide from September 1st.
