Hermès surrealizes its 2015 theme, "Flâneur," with a men's movie

Mar 25, 2015

Hermès has released an image video for Véronique Nichanian's Spring/Summer 2015 men's ready-to-wear collection. This series of videos uses surreal magic to express the collection's appeal through mysterious visuals. In keeping with Hermès' 2015 annual theme, "Flâneur—Anytime, Stroll," the video shows two men on a leisurely stroll. Each video begins with a line projected on screen, beginning with "If you're a true flâneur," and continues, "You can see things others can't," as the man walks down the street, glancing sideways at the bookstores lining the Seine. Suddenly, the books all begin to flip through at once, revealing the same design as the man's coat.Meanwhile, in "I Don't Want to Go Straight," men walk through a labyrinth of pillars, walking as they please, without worrying about their destination. Four other titles have also been released, including "I Don't Care Which Way I Turn" and "I Change My Mind Like I Change My Shirt."These humorously portray the flâneur as envisioned by Hermès.
