Multimedia artist Julian Klincewicz will hold his first overseas solo exhibition, "Yum," at the Omotesando gallery ROCKET from April 3rd to 7th. Originally from Chicago, Julian is a 19-year-old multi-artist who specializes in collage. He creates art that evokes a sense of nostalgia using his own photographs and vintage magazines. His video works also employ a collage-like editing technique. He also works as a model, musician, and skater, and recently launched his own apparel brand, Mimosa Butika. He also produced backstage footage for the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection of Gosha Rubchinskiy, a young Russian designer supported by COMME des GARÇONS. In addition to screenings of seven video works, including new works, the exhibition will also feature 10 collages and handwritten poems. In addition, "Yum" (5,000 yen) will be sold in limited quantities, containing three items: a poetry collection inspired by a box containing a family's keepsakes, a collage zine inspired by the poetry collection, and a cassette containing the audio from the video. The set is limited to 50 pieces, and each piece is placed in a black vinyl bag with a collage design.
Julian will be present on the first day to hold a collage workshop. There will also be an opening party.
