This fall's new bag from CHANEL for the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection features a classic form accented with shiny embroidery (12.5cm high x 20cm wide x 7cm deep, priced at 1,253,000 yen). It's crafted from moss green lambskin. The shoulder chain is a gold chain wrapped in the same leather as the body. Combined with the Coco Mark clasp, it exudes a noble aura. The mosaic embroidery, inspired by the tile floors of French brasseries, was meticulously sewn by Lesage, a traditional French couturier. The geometric pattern is reminiscent of the Matelassé bag, the brand's signature bag, characterized by its lattice-like quilting. Along with animal prints and checks, it's one of this season's hottest patterns.
Also, following the trend of retro mood this season, many "flap bags" with flaps fastening the front were seen, but the Matelassé bag, which was originally created by improving on handbags, can also be said to be a symbol of the good girl of yesteryear. It is an item unique to the Maison, which continues to update itself with modern designs while cherishing tradition.
