■ "L.A., 1971" by Anthony Hernandez
This is a collection of works by American photographer Anthony Hernandez. The 12 images in this book are a series of photographs taken on a single day in 1971, depicting people entering and exiting a safe deposit box in the photographer's hometown of Los Angeles.
To shoot quickly and intuitively, he uses pre-focusing and releases the shutter when the subject is in focus. Interested in the differences in urban environments and cultures, the photographer has also used this technique to photograph cities such as London and Washington.
In November 2011, an exhibition of the same series was held at the Paris gallery "LE BAL." The cover features a metal plate reminiscent of a safe deposit box door.
