"ACCESSORY MARKET - Choose happiness -" is being held at Center Park The Stage #2 on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. It runs until December 25th.
This seasonal accessory promotion event, now in its fourth year, features a lineup of 13 popular brands, with a "return to basics" theme in terms of materials and craftsmanship. According to an Isetan representative, "personalization" is also a key theme. The gathering of brands specializing in customization led to the idea of decorating the sales floor in an atelier-like style.
One of the participating brands, "JOLILI," took the French word "JOLI," meaning "lovely, cute," and made it sound even more fun. The cutely named rings, such as Tiare (¥14,000), Diamant (¥14,000), and Zigzag (¥16,000), are all made of gold or silver. Designer Yasuko Kawase commented, "It's also important to enjoy the time spent hammering the material to change its shape." Fuyuka Tsuji, designer of the "phenomena collection," is also interested in the shadows that appear when accessories are hit by light, thanks to her work as a photographer. The collection offers unique pieces such as the "Something You Can Only See Here C-Ring" (¥60,000), whose shadows create a diamond-like shape, and the "Something You Can See Beyond the Light" (¥35,000 ring, ¥15,000 earrings), in which a rainbow appears when sunlight hits the cut material. "luxu" is the work of designer Yuka Tanaka, who previously worked as a product designer for a major Japanese automobile manufacturer. The Ori series, which sparkles with a unique perfection, features a mystical array of items, from rings (from 31,500 yen) to earrings (from 26,000 yen), with structures reminiscent of the folded lines of origami.
Luce macchia, the brand by Maki Teranishi, who majored in iron at the Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University, is also unique. The glass jewelry, bathed in light, has a unique aura that combines a smooth texture with delicate designs. The names of each item, such as crown rings (from 8,000 yen) and honeycomb rings (from 7,000 yen), are also cute.
Other brands being featured at the venue include "lamana jewels," "un by yoshida tomoyo," "Chan Luu," "mayu," "LULA MAE," "simmon," "salet by Eri Takekawa," "MINIMUMNUTS," and "GULABI TOKYO."
