"Choco to Ocha," a pop-up cafe offering the marriage of Lithuanian chocolate and Japanese tea, will open at Gallery Space ROCKET in Tokyo's Harajuku district from December 11th to 15th. The cafe will offer chocolate from Chocolate Naive, a Lithuanian bean-to-bar chocolate maker that roasts cacao beans, and roasted green tea from Maruhachi Tea Factory, a long-established tea maker in Kanazawa. Menu items include the "Roasted Tea Chocolate Latte," which allows you to enjoy chocolate and tea together, and a teatime set that combines seven types of chocolate with tea. In addition to products from Chocolate Naive and Maruhachi Tea Factory, the cafe will also be selling Christmas gift sets specially prepared for the pop-up cafe, as well as Lithuanian coasters, wooden spoons, beeswax candles, and other items to brighten up your teatime.
In addition, from 4pm to 5pm on December 12th and 13th, a lecture event on tea called "All sorts of interesting things about tea that you think you know but don't know" will be held by Japanese tea instructor Maruya Reina, who introduces new ways to enjoy Japanese tea, at Cafe syn, run by Maruhachi Tea Factory. Reservations are required and each session is limited to 8 people, and the participation fee is 1,000 yen, including chocolate and tea.
