"Le Theatre Dior" exhibition opens in Osaka, tracing Dior's career through miniature dresses

Jun 8, 2016

Dior will be holding the "Le Théâtre Dior" exhibition at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store from June 11th.

The exhibition is inspired by "Le Théâtre de la Mode," an exhibition held in 1945 that displayed miniature costumes and accessories designed by the great couturiers of the time. "Le Théâtre de la Mode" was conceived by Lucien Lelong, the designer of the Maison where Christian Dior worked, and Christian Dior was also involved in the creation of the costumes and props exhibited.

The exhibition will feature numerous miniature garments meticulously recreated from original Maison Dior models. Items range from tiny bar suits to miniature ball gowns. This is a rare opportunity to experience the history of this extraordinary couture house and the visionary talent of Christian Dior.
