Karimoku Furniture and Hender Scheme collaborate to release wooden sandals and chairs that become more comfortable with use

Jun 10, 2016

Karimoku Furniture is releasing new items in collaboration with Hender Scheme, a company specializing in leather shoes and accessories. This marks Karimoku Furniture's first collaboration with a fashion company.

The two brands have combined their respective strengths—leatherwork and woodworking—to create a new chair and sandals with a soft texture that adapts to the body with use. The shoemaker chair (a chair for trying on shoes) subtly expresses the "H" in Hender Scheme's brand logo through its structure. The legs are minimalistic, exuding a rustic and airy feel, while the seat is shaped to gently conform to the body like a shoe sole. The back is designed to stand on its own without a core, taking advantage of the thickness and tautness of the shoulder straps used in shoe soles.

The sandals feature a three-dimensional sole crafted from solid maple, achieving unprecedented comfort. These shoes allow you to experience the natural comfort of wood.

From June 25th to July 3rd, a special exhibition and sale of the Shoemaker Chair, sandals, and Hender Scheme's original shoes and accessories will be held at CIBONE in Aoyama.
