On the second day of the 90th Pitti Immagine Uomo, which opened in Florence, Italy on June 14th, Gosha Rubchinskiy presented his 17SS collection.
Russian designer Rubchinskiy, who was invited as the main guest designer for this year's Pitti Uomo, has used skater fashion, a symbol of Moscow street culture, as his image source since his brand debut in 2008. However, for his 17SS collection, he moved away from the "youth culture" he has been leading, presenting suits and jackets.
Continuing the trend of street fashion, he incorporated items featuring the logos of Italian sports brands such as FILA, KAPPA, and Sergio Tacchini, which were also popular in Japan in the 1980s, into the core of his looks, showcasing the current fashion sense of menswear with a witty Muscovite flair.
In previous presentations, he has presented his own zine, but this time a short movie was released along with the runway, simultaneously expressing his work as a photographer and filmmaker, which forms the basis of his creations.
