On January 14th, MIKAKO NAKAMURA opened the "MIKAKO NAKAMURA 15SS LIMITED SHOP" in the central hall on the first floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store. The limited-time shop, which will run until the 20th, will take orders for items from the 15SS ready-to-wear line, including archive pieces from the brand's signature coat, "Luna." The theme of the 15SS collection is "HAVE AN ILLUSION." A total of six geometric "illusion art" motifs, based on optical illusions, are expressed on coats and dresses in green and pink. According to the brand's PR representative, "The significance of the illusion theme is that it embodies the designer's desire to question, 'Is the reality we see before our eyes the truth? What is the essence of reality?'" Approximately 40 pieces will be on sale at the venue, including ready-to-wear and custom orders, reflecting the collection's theme. Items include a dress printed with three arrows that appear to be of different lengths (custom order price: ¥220,000), a dress with an optical illusion of blocks on the front (custom order price: ¥220,000), a coat made from original tweed (¥300,000), and a pink coat with a cocoon silhouette evoking spring (¥240,000). Approximately 15 coats from the brand's Luna archives will also be on display. Luna is the brand's iconic signature, having released a colorway exclusive to that season since its launch. While the standard colors are black and camel, Mikako Nakamura will be taking orders for colors and designs from its archives for the first time. In addition, approximately 10 pieces from the brand's past 10 years, other than Luna, will also be on display. Mikako Nakamura's brand concept is "LESS IS MORE." According to the brand, "Mikako Nakamura puts the wearer at the center of our work. We value creating simple clothing that highlights the customer's individuality with minimal alterations. Following the event at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, archive pieces, including Luna, will be on display at East Park on the fourth floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from January 21st to January 27th.
