Pernod Absinthe, a French spirits brand distributed by Pernod Ricard Japan, will release a limited edition of 800 bottles of the "Pernod Absinthe Maison Kitsune Limited Edition" (700ml/5,040 yen) design bottle, the second collaboration with Maison Kitsune since 2012, on March 3rd.
This product was created to commemorate the launch of "Is Leaving," a short music documentary movie series created by Maison Kitsune inspired by Verno Absinthe. The movie, themed "Music & Travel," features the popular London band IS TROPICAL. The fox on the bottle, adorned with colorful flowers and polka dots, is wearing their trademark biker jacket. Absinthe, a spirit made from plants, was created in 1805 and has been enjoyed by many people, including artists such as painters Picasso and Van Gogh, poet Rimbaud, and novelist Hemingway. However, for various reasons, its production, sale, and distribution were banned in 1915. In 2011, a law was enacted to completely lift the ban, and the official name of "Pernod Absinthe" was restored. From March, the traditional recipe from when it was first created will be restored, and the label will be redesigned to evoke its history.
