Angelo Ruggeri has been appointed design director for Sergio Rossi's men's collection, starting with the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection. Originally from Sicily, Ruggeri, who has worked for Giorgio Armani and Tom Ford, returned to the Sergio Rossi design team in March of last year, where he previously gained experience. The 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, unveiled at Milan Men's Fashion Week, was infused with early '80s rock influences. Sergio Rossi's traditional craftsmanship was combined with '50s Teddy Boy-style staples like creepers (rubber soles), side-zip Beetle boots, and monk strap shoes, all given a new look with pony hair leather and leopard print. Even classic brogues were given a rock feel with metal studs and eyelets.

In addition, blue items were proposed as a promotional color for dressy lines such as astrakhan and grosgrain ribbon slippers, and colors such as ruby red were also impressively added to the collection. The presentation was inspired by the early 1980s, when discotheques were transitioning to nightclubs.
