American furniture manufacturer Knoll is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Japan with the opening of its first flagship store in Japan, the Knoll Store Aoyama Main Store (2-12-32 Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo), on August 20th. The first floor showcases Knoll Studio, a collection of classic pieces, alongside a unique selection of tableware, glassware, books, and art, creating a modern aesthetic. Knoll Textiles, the award-winning, high-quality upholstery division, offers custom sofas and expert advice. The second floor features Knoll Office, ideal for small, medium-sized, and home offices. The store offers a colorful, intellectual, and sophisticated lineup of cutting-edge styles. The store also offers comprehensive coordination services to meet a variety of needs, from public spaces to residential spaces. Hours are from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Founded in 1938, Knoll is so well versed in design that its history is said to be "the history of the American modern design movement." Likened to the Bauhaus as the father and Cranbrook as the mother, the company draws on the philosophical influences of both. They have produced furniture with excellent design, including the "Barcelona Collection" and "Tulip Collection."
