J.Crew has released a charity T-shirt as part of its "Garments for Good" charity project. Collaborating with British illustrator Emma Smith, the men's T-shirt features a hornet, the women's T-shirt features a honeybee, the boys' T-shirt features a bumblebee, and the girls' T-shirt features a queen bee. Prices are ¥7,336 for both men and women, and ¥6,847 for both boys and girls (subject to exchange rate fluctuations). Fifty percent of the proceeds from the T-shirt will be donated to BugLife, Europe's only organization dedicated to the protection of invertebrates. The organization is focused on protecting pollinators, including bees, in light of the risk of extinction of 150,000 plant and animal species worldwide by 2050. The organization is implementing various projects to benefit urban areas, including the creation of "B-lines" in rural areas, allowing bees to fly freely.
