
Actress Halle Berry was born on August 14, 1966, in Ohio, USA.
When she was four years old, her parents divorced due to domestic violence by her alcoholic father, and she was raised by her mother, a nurse. She began competing in beauty pageants as a teenager, and in 1985 she was selected as the Ohio representative. In 1986, she placed second in the Miss USA pageant and sixth in the Miss World pageant. In 1989, she was cast in a leading role in a comedy show.
She made her acting debut in the 1991 Spike Lee film "Jungle Fever." The following year, she played Angela, the girlfriend of Eddie Murphy, in "Boomerang," and continued to appear in Hollywood films and TV movies, including "The Flintstones" and "Executive Decision." In 1999, she played the lead role of Dorothy Dandridge in the TV movie "Academy Awards," for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. In 2001, she became the first woman of color to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, and made headlines by wearing an Elie Saab outfit at the awards ceremony. She also played a Bond girl in the 2002 film "Die Another." She is also well-known in Japan for her role as the mutant Storm in the 2000 American comic book film "X-Men." She is also active in social contribution activities, and is a supporter of the Jenesse Center, an organization that provides relief to victims of domestic violence. Since 2013, she has participated in the anti-hunger campaign "Watch Hunger Stop," engaging in local volunteer work. Her starring role in the film "Frankie & Alice" will be released on September 20th, in which she plays the role of Frankie, the most popular stripper with dissociative identity disorder. Previously released photos of her dancing scene from the film show her performing a sensual striptease in a revealing outfit, drawing attention for her beauty that is hard to believe is 47 years old. In her personal life, she married major league baseball player David Justice in 1992, but they soon divorced. She continued to marry several times after that, and had a daughter, Nahla, with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry in 2005, and a son, Maceo, with French actor Olivier Martinez in 2013.
