Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei (located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), the first new Hotel Okura brand hotel in Japan in approximately 20 years, opened today on January 20, 2022, in Okazaki, Kyoto, a city where beautiful nature, culture, and history coexist in harmony.
Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei is a 60-room hotel, including eight suites, and is Hotel Okura's first small luxury hotel. This "villa"-like hideaway for adults offers a space where you can experience the aesthetic sense of modern Kyoto, meticulous hospitality for each guest, and a soothing stay with gourmet food.

At the time of the opening, Tatsuya Shinkawa, appointed General Manager of Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei, had the following to say:
■ A tasteful space with different art pieces for each guest room type
At our hotel, you can experience the modern beauty of Kyoto at every turn through the interior décor and dining scene. The interior features intricate artworks, primarily by Kyoto-based artists, including "GO ON," a project unit of six successors of Kyoto's traditional crafts.
"Bettei Suite Room" Featuring Original Art Pieces by Nishijin Weaver Hosoo
The hotel has 60 guest rooms themed around a mountain villa nestled in Higashiyama. From the rooms on the north side, you can enjoy the gardens of the adjacent "Shinshu Otaniha Okazaki Betsuin (Higashi Honganji Okazaki Betsuin)" and the lush natural scenery that spreads across Higashiyama. Additionally, there are suite rooms, all with balconies, where you can enjoy a woven piece by Nishijin weaver Hosoo (2 rooms), depicting a lake surface bathed in light and shimmering light, as well as a series of works by calligrapher Tomoko Kawao (6 rooms), which focus on the movement of a brushstroke in the air.
