Actress Milla Jovovich was born on December 17, 1975, in Kiev, Soviet Union. She moved to England with her parents at the age of five and later to the United States. From the age of 11, she joined a modeling agency as a Russian model, appearing on magazine covers and walking in fashion shows in Milan, Paris, and New York. She has appeared in advertisements for Calvin Klein, L'Oreal, Chanel, and Versace. She made her screen debut in 1988 as the heroine's younger sister in the film Two Moons. After appearing in films such as The Blue Lagoon in 1991 and Charlie in 1992, she appeared in The Fifth Element starring Bruce Willis. All costumes for the film were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. The 2002 release of Resident Evil was a huge hit, and she has since starred in five films in the series.

In her personal life, she married for the first time at the age of 16, to director Luc Besson in 1997, but divorced in 1999. She then became engaged to Paul W.S.
