Alexander Wang has opened a pop-up shop on the third floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store, The Stage #3, featuring a selection of bags and accessories from its Resort and Christmas collections. The shop will run until December 25th. "This time, we've selected bags, small leather goods, and lifestyle items based on the concept of 'More Variation,'" says Yoshitsugu Kobori, sales manager at Club 21. The 2014 Resort collection features colorful coloring. The theme is "candy." While the brand has previously focused on monochrome, this season it breaks away from monochromatic styles with over 10 color variations, including pastel hues inspired by candy. The "Multi" backpack, which debuted in Japan and has since gained worldwide popularity, is available in three metallic colors—rose gold, silver, and green—exclusively for the Christmas collection (147,000 yen). Wallets in the same colors are also available as part of the Christmas collection. Also featured in the resort collection are the Emile (131,250 yen) and Pelican Satchel (134,400 yen), which feature classic designs but also feature cracked leather, and contrasting textures such as leather and real python, creating a luxurious atmosphere. The lifestyle-focused Object Collection will also be available only during the period. Items include the new marble junk ball (16,800 yen), coaster set (17,850 yen), hand mirror (10,500 yen), candle holder (17,850 yen), pocket chain (10,500 yen), dice set (10,500 yen), shot glass set (12,600 yen), and pill case-shaped key chain (6,825 yen). Past collections, such as the yoga mat (15,750 yen), which is popular with both men and women, are also making a comeback.
"We have everything from iconic bags to the latest collections, making this a space where you can experience the world of Alexander Wang. The unprecedented color variations are a new attempt for the brand, and we are looking forward to seeing customers' reactions. We hope that customers will feel the power of color with this colorful lineup," says Kobori.
