Music from Masamichi Katayama's Musashino Art University lectures, supervised by Shinichi Osawa, released on CD

Dec 25, 2013

Shinichi Osawa has released the official compilation CD "Music for instigator Compiled by Shinichi Osawa" (2,500 yen), created for a special lecture at Musashino Art University, where interior designer Masamichi Katayama teaches.

Katayama's lecture, "instigator," was planned by the professor in the university's Department of Spatial Design with the aim of "providing an opportunity for students to think about their future." Guests have included art director Kashiwa Sato, former Japan national soccer team player Hidetoshi Nakata, film director Katsuyuki Motohiro, and designer NIGO(R). Osawa was in charge of the music for the lecture, selecting music tailored to each guest.

The book "Professor Masamichi Katayama's 'Make Your Favorite Thing Your Job'" was released by Magazine House in November, and this CD was planned to coincide with it. As Osawa said, "I was not afraid of anything and just layered the songs that came to mind," the lineup includes a wide variety of music across eras and genres, including dance music, new wave, and techno. 16 tracks, across genres, have been selected from songs selected for each guest in previous lectures. The album also includes a newly written theme song, "Instigator Theme."
