Fashion model Moe Oshikiri was born on December 29, 1979, in Chiba Prefecture. While still in high school, she began working as a reader model for the fashion magazine "Popteen." She was also featured in magazines like "egg" and "Tokyo Street News," becoming a charismatic figure among high school girls. In 2001, she became an exclusive model for "CanCam" in an attempt to transition to a more "adult" woman. She made a huge breakthrough as a popular model alongside Yuri Ebihara and Yu Yamada. She graduated from the magazine with the April 2007 issue and is currently an exclusive model for "AneCan," a fashion magazine aimed at women over 25. She has also appeared on television and in commercials, and in recent years has written columns for AneCan and "AERA." Her 2009 book, "Failed Model," a chronicle of her life, became a bestseller, selling over 160,000 copies. Furthermore, in August of this year, she published a full-length novel, "Asaki Yumemishi," which she wrote entirely by herself after spending three years planning and writing it. The novel depicts the life of an unsuccessful 25-year-old model, and includes backstage information on the industry and tips on how to become beautiful. The book won first place in the "Thrilling Women's Category" at the "Rakuten Books 2013 Hidden Masterpiece No. 1 Competition."
