A unique Star Wars book has been released to coincide with the release of the latest film, Episode VII. It explores a new world of Star Wars, guided by the head priest Masuno Shunmyo, a landscape designer with a focus on Zen and Japanese gardens. Using a unique Zen approach, the book looks back on legendary scenes from Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI, along with Zen phrases. According to the author, "Star Wars is truly a story of fate." This book contains Zen messages for self-reflection that will be useful not only for fans, but also for anyone struggling with relationships or life issues. Masuno Shunmyo, the author of this book, is the 18th head priest of the Soto Zen sect's Tokuyuzan Kenkoji Temple, a garden designer active both in Japan and abroad. He also teaches at Tama Art University's Department of Environmental Design.
His past works include the Gion-ji Temple Shiundai Garden "Ryumon Garden," the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel Garden "Kanza Garden," the Berlin Japanese Garden "Yosui-en," and the University of Bergen's new campus garden "Garden of Silence." In 2006, he was selected as one of the "100 Japanese People Respected by the World" by the Japanese edition of Newsweek. He has received the University of British Columbia's Special Achievement Award "AWARD OF MERIT," the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture Award, the Yokohama Culture Award Encouragement Prize, the Minister of Education's Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists, and many others.
