STEVEN SMITH TEAMAKER, a tea brand based in Portland, USA, is opening its first pop-up tea house in Japan at the 8th floor event space of the Hanshin Umeda Main Store until February 7th.
The brand was founded by Steven Smith, the creator of "Tazo Tea," which was provided to Starbucks stores around the world. Carefully selected full-leaf teas from around the world are blended fresh in the Portland atelier and individually packaged to preserve the aroma.
To commemorate its first store in Japan, the store will be selling a limited-edition "Darjeeling Cream Caramel Latte" (550 yen), a revolutionary tea menu item made with handmade pure flake sea salt from Portland. All 11 flavors of STEVEN SMITH TEAMAKER (450 yen each) will be available. In addition, from 2pm on January 27th, 30th and 31st, the sales director from the UK will be making a special visit to Japan to hold a free talk event where he will talk about the charms of Portland and tea trivia.
The event will be held as part of the Portland Fair, which will be held at Hanshin Umeda Main Store from January 27th to February 7th. There will be a wide selection of craft foods and miscellaneous goods that are full of the passion for craftsmanship of the creative people who live in Portland.
