Film director David Lynch was born on January 20, 1946, in Montana, USA. He is known for his surreal and esoteric films.
He studied painting and enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He began filmmaking while still a student. He made his directorial debut in 1976 with the independent film "Eraserhead." Director Mel Brooks, who liked this work, selected him to direct "The Elephant Man" (1980). He subsequently gained popularity as a "cult king," winning the National Society of Film Critics Award for "Blue Velvet" in 1986, the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for "Wild at Heart" in 1990, and the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival for "Mulholland Drive" in 2001. For his 2006 film "Inland Empire," Lynch collaborated with JULIUS to sell T-shirts.

Using the experiences he had as a student, he held a solo exhibition as a contemporary artist at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art in 2007. He also released the single "Good Day Today/I Know" as a musician in 2011.

Currently, "Fire by Louboutin," a film adaptation of the legendary show "FIRE," directed by shoe designer Christian Louboutin with music by Lynch, is in theaters.
