Jeff Griffin has been appointed designer of BARACUTA's premium line, Blue Label, for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection. His debut collection was unveiled at the Italian WP Labori booth at Pitti Immagine Uomo 85 in January. The brand's iconic model, the Harrington jacket, known in Japan as the "swing top," is offered in military Harris Tweed and camouflage patterns, incorporating traditional details like a dog-ear collar and umbrella cut. Combinations of down, cotton twill, and wool have evolved into witty, contemporary pieces characteristic of British designer Griffin. Yagi Tsusho is the distributor in Japan. This classic Manchester-born piece, which has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years, is likely to attract even more attention. Jeff Griffin launched his own brand in 1994, incorporating military and outdoor elements into street-casual sportswear. In 2003, he opened "GRIFFIN TOKYO" (now closed) on Kotto-dori Street in Aoyama, Tokyo. He then moved his design studio from London to Heartland, and the brand "GRIFFIN HARTLAND" has been distributed by Renown since 2012-13 Autumn/Winter.
