Ayame Goriki "wants to climb mountains" and appears at Barry's Everest summit 60th anniversary event

Oct 10, 2013

On the evening of the 9th, BALLY held a one-night event, "BALLY EVEREST 1953-2013," at its Ginza store to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first human ascent of Mount Everest. The event showcased the Bally Reindeer Himalayan boots, the same model worn by Tenzing Norgay, the first man to summit the mountain in May 1953, which were brought over from a Swiss museum. Actress Ayame Goriki opened the event wearing a beige dress and Bally's 2013-14 Autumn/Winter boots. "I love boots. I chose a more mature look for my outfit today. It just so happens that I've recently become interested in mountain climbing," she said. She celebrated the 60th anniversary with Reinhard Miek, CEO of Bally and the Rabellux Group, and Tenzing Norgay's son, Jamling Tenzing Norgay.

In addition, a special display of the 13-14 Autumn/Winter men's and women's collections will be set up on the basement floor of the store, including a replica of the boots. The replica Reindeer Himalayan boots are made from reindeer fur, and the hooks for attaching the shoelaces are made in the same factory as the originals. They will be sold by made-to-order only. 231,000 yen.
