Actor Marlon Brando was born on April 3, 1924, in Nebraska, USA. He passed away on July 1, 2004.
He moved to New York at the age of 19 and began studying acting. He began performing on stage in the 1940s, garnering attention in Elia Kazan's production of "A Streetcar Named Desire." He made his film debut in 1950 in "The Men." The following year, he was nominated for his first Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film version of "A Streetcar Named Desire," and became an instant hit.
His appearance in 1953's "The Brute," in which he straddles a motorcycle in a leather jacket and jeans, became a trend among young people. He went on to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor award for "Zapata" (1952) and the Oscar for Best Actor for "On the Waterfront" (1954), making him a top star in both name and reality. However, in the 1960s, he caused many troubles both in his personal and professional life, such as not being able to remember his lines and having bad habits with women, and his reputation as an actor began to decline.
In 1972, when his popularity was at a low point, he starred in "The Godfather" and won his second Academy Award for Best Actor. This brought him back to the forefront, and he went on to take on a variety of roles as a character actor. He died in July 2004 at the age of 80.
