Organic cotton brand SkinAware has collaborated with FOOD TEXTILE, a textile brand that uses food waste as dye, to release a line of T-shirts (priced at ¥8,800 each). The collaboration aims to raise awareness of Japan's status as one of the world's leading food waste producers and provide an opportunity for consumers to consider what they can do to help. The four colors available in this collaboration are tomato-dyed pink, coffee-dyed brown, purple cabbage-dyed purple, and lettuce-dyed green. The T-shirts, available in unisex sizes and featuring a boxy silhouette, feature a square chest pocket, a front-to-back silhouette, and subtle slits, all of which are characteristic of SkinAware. To commemorate the collaboration, the T-shirts will be available in original, easy-to-assemble eco-packaging made from recycled paper, reducing CO2 emissions during shipping.
The products are available at Ma Lingerie on the 3rd floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku, Men's Underwear on the 1st basement floor of Isetan Men's, Men's Underwear on the 5th floor of Mitsukoshi Ginza, as well as the official SkinAware online shop (http://skin-aware.com/).
