Louis Vuitton has designed a trunk case to house the trophies presented to the winners of the French Open. The French Open, held annually from late May to early June at the Roland Garros Stadium in the Bois de Boulogne, west of Paris, is a French international tennis tournament. Louis Vuitton has designed a trophy case to protect the Suzanne Lenglen Cup, presented to the women's champion, and the Mousquetaires Cup, presented to the men's champion. The trophy case was crafted in Louis Vuitton's atelier in Asnières, a suburb of Paris. Crafted from the iconic Monogram canvas, the case features the Maison's signature brass corners and locks. The terracotta-colored interior, reminiscent of a clay court, and the white "V" logo, reminiscent of the court's lines, pay homage to the tournament's long history and tradition. Before the men's and women's singles finals, the case will be personalized by visual artist Vik Muniz, who also created this year's tournament poster. The final customization will be completed. "In this impressive new case, the trophy looks more beautiful than ever and will be a fantastic focal point at the tournament," said Bernard Giudicelli, president of the French Tennis Federation. Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, also said, "We are extremely proud to play an important role in this tournament. It is an honor to have designed the trophy case for such an internationally renowned tennis tournament." Louis Vuitton has previously designed trophy cases for the world's most prestigious sporting events, including the America's Cup, Rugby World Cup, and FIFA World Cup, and has created a wide range of custom-made trunk cases using expert craftsmanship.
