The OLD JOE FLAGSHIP STORE in Shibuya, Tokyo, is hosting a pop-up "AKARI Traveling Exhibition" featuring a vintage "AKARI" collection until June 13th. The collection, known as "light sculptures," was first released by Isamu Noguchi in the 1950s for the Japanese lighting manufacturer Ozeki. Following Part 1, which took place at the select shop PHAETON in Ichirimachi, Ishikawa Prefecture, from April to May, Part 2, with the cooperation of Gallery-SIGN in Tokyo and Hiroshima, focuses on rare vintage pieces from the 1950s and 1960s. During the exhibition, ceiling lamps, floor lamps, and stand lamps with shades from discontinued models, which Ozeki was asked to reproduce for the event, are on display and for sale.
