Vintage Shop Tour in East London! Walking the Exotic Brick Lane [Our Favorite LONDON vol.1]

Sep 12, 2016
East London has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past decade, with trendy shops and restaurants opening one after another. Amid this, Brick Lane is a street that still retains a vestige of its working-class vibe. Originally home to many immigrants from Bangladesh, the area is lined with curry restaurants, and even today, street signs are written in Bengali beneath English.

Although this area exudes an exotic atmosphere, it is also known for its high-quality vintage shops. We'll introduce the vintage scene in the Brick Lane area, focusing on Cheshire Street, which is lined with classic popular stores, large recently opened stores, and renowned shops.

■Absolute Vintage

“vintagelondon”

Founded as a stall in Portobello Market, the shop opened near Spitalfields Market in 2003. A huge selection of men's and women's items is displayed in a spacious space that was originally a warehouse. The number of women's boots and pumps is particularly impressive. With a wide variety of styles and many reasonably priced items, the shop is loved by people of all ages.

This is a sister store located right next to Absolute Vintage. It offers a hand-picked selection of high-quality women's items. There is also a great selection of elegant European-style dresses and accessories. Japanese kimonos are also said to be a popular item. Londoners seem to enjoy wearing kimonos as jackets or cardigans to add a touch of fashion.

The store has two floors and an adjoining cafe, allowing you to enjoy shopping at your leisure. The store stocks roughly half men's and half women's items, and also has a large selection of deadstock items. It also carries an original remade line.
