Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Yebisu Garden Place will open a new movie theater, "YEBISU GARDEN CINEMA," next spring. The concept is "&CINEMA—Discover new ways to enjoy the cinema with your five senses, together with the city." The theater will screen a selection of culturally rich works from around the world, with a focus on American independent films. It will also screen plays, musicals, fashion shows, and classical concerts. It will also collaborate with art events within Garden Place to promote new cultural and artistic trends. The theater will also offer an extensive alcoholic and food menu, and a cafe counter will be installed. The women's powder room counter will be designed with an elegant and sophisticated cinematic atmosphere. The theater will be designed by Intentionaries, the architectural firm behind the Shibuya Hikarie Sky Lobby, and will incorporate tactile elements into the interior, creating a cinema experience that stimulates all five senses. The theater will feature two screens, equipped with a 4K digital projector and 3D system. The audio system will be 7.1ch, allowing viewers to experience immersive sound in tandem with the high-definition video. A total of 280 wide seats with cup holders and luxury seats will be available, providing a relaxing viewing space.
