Feb 2, 2016

Calligrapher and artist Maaya Wakasugi, who also created the Louvre Museum's official logo, will host a one-day exhibition titled "Yu" at elephant STUDIO in Shibuya, Tokyo, from noon to midnight on February 4th. Based in Bordeaux, France, Maaya Wakasugi is a calligrapher and artist who has established a unique style using ancient characters as a motif. In recent years, she has embraced calligraphy as an art form, creating the Louvre Museum's official logo and performing at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The exhibition will feature "Yu Tokyo," a calligraphy performance piece based on the "Time Out Tokyo" video, which was exhibited on the screen at Shibuya Scramble Crossing from the end of last year to the beginning of this year. The lineup will also include calligraphy pieces designed to inspire playful spirit in the coming spring. A live painting event will also be held starting at 8:00 PM.
