"An introduction," the first solo exhibition in Japan by Finland's leading visual artist, Ville Andersson, will be held at DIESEL ART GALLERY in Shibuya, Tokyo, from February 26th to May 20th.
Ville Andersson is one of the most notable artists today, having won the Young Artist of the Year 2015 award, Finland's highest art award. Using a variety of techniques, including drawing, photography, and graphics, he creates fantastical visuals that straddle the boundary between reality and fantasy. He is also known for his works composed entirely of simple colors such as black, white, and gray, including works in which white subjects are projected against a white background.
He has actively participated in group and solo exhibitions at venues such as the Espoo Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki Contemporary Gallery, and Vitraria Glass + A Museum. In addition to receiving the Stina Krug Foundation Prize in 2012, he was also selected as a finalist for the Spanish Art Critics Association Award at the International Contemporary Art Fair (ARCOmadrid) in 2014.

In addition to the exhibition of his works, this solo exhibition will also feature a collection of his works not yet published in Japan for sale.
