Additionally, a new temporary heliport opened this April just before Daiichi Irohazaka, which leads from Oku-Nikko down to Nikko city. This allows helicopter access to Oku-Nikko from central Tokyo or Narita Airport in as little as 45 minutes. While Irohazaka is a popular autumn foliage viewing spot every year, it can become crowded during peak hours.
