Jan 2, 2013

To commemorate the publication of "Flower Comics Masterpieces," a project celebrating Shogakukan's 90th anniversary, five of Japan's leading shojo manga artists have collaborated with Isetan Shinjuku's event, "Fufufu, Furoshiki Festival," to release original furoshiki cloths.

The furoshiki cloths are based on the motifs of the five manga artists' past masterpieces.
They come in five designs: Hagio Moto's "The Poe Clan," Yoshida Akimi's "BANANA FISH," Watanabe Taeko's "Kaze Hikaru," Shinohara Chie's "Yami no Purple Eye," and Tamura Yumi's "BASARA," and are priced at 5,250 yen each.
On the first day of sales, January 2nd, many manga fans flocked to the store as soon as it opened.

"Flower Comic Masterpieces" is a hardcover volume in a decorative box that collects masterpieces of short stories by great masters of the world of girls' manga. Currently, "Jewel of Love" by Hagio Moto and "Yoake" by Yoshida Akimi are on sale. In mid-January, "Thoughts/Bonds" by Watanabe Taeko, "The Sky I Once Saw" by Shinohara Chie, and "The Heat of Life" by Tamura Yumi are scheduled to be released.
