Born in the Jura region in 1821, Louis Vuitton left his hometown as a young teenager, determined to take on the challenge of Paris. This first-ever adventure across France on foot sparked in the boy a desire to enter the trunk-making and packing industry. His trunks quickly gained a reputation, paving the way for modern luxury. "It's amazing to think that a fashion house like Louis Vuitton could be started with just the courage of a young boy," says Francesca Amfitheatrof, the Maison's Artistic Director of Watches & Fine Jewelry. "Driven by curiosity about the world, a boy embarked on an extraordinary journey across France. That's why we named this collection 'Bravery,' meaning 'brave.' It's a word rarely used in high jewelry, but determination and a spirit of adventure are in Louis Vuitton's DNA, and we wanted to express this through this collection."

Francesca Amfitheatrof's powerful and vibrant style injects a dynamic energy into these 90 high jewelry pieces. Their exceptional execution is the result of the talent of our artisans, whose unparalleled experience and skill brought the designs to life in our high jewelry workshops on Place Vendôme, transforming them into supple, sleek masterpieces adorned with countless precious details.

Equally significant are the rarity of the gemstones used in each model. It took three years to find and acquire the sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds necessary to create such a rich palette. The beauty of these stones is fully enhanced by unparalleled jewelry-making savoir-faire, particularly the meticulous craftsmanship of bezels and settings tailored to each individual piece. The 1,700 gemstones, for example, were cut directly on the pieces. And more than 110 Louis Vuitton cut diamonds—Louis Vuitton's signature diamond, a glorious reinterpretation of the Monogram Flower—radiate a fiery glow, illuminating the sparkling harmony of color. "Bravery" is a magnificent allegory of the visionary spirit of Louis Vuitton, born 200 years ago, and is a high jewelry collection that retraces his remarkable story through eight themed chapters.

"La Constellations d'Hercules"

"La Constellations d'Hercules" was designed as a tribute to Louis Vuitton, which was founded on August 4, 1821, and was inspired by the constellation Hercules, which is easiest to observe in the summer. A rare combination of tanzanites totaling approximately 209 carats, Austrian black opals weighing approximately 50 carats, and tsavorites weighing approximately 34 carats, illuminated by the shimmering Louis Vuitton cut diamonds, reveals the full brilliance of the constellation Hercules in this organic and majestic necklace. Louis Vuitton's High Jewelry Atelier has employed sophisticated techniques to minimize the gold mounting, thereby highlighting the brilliance of this symphony of blues, greens, and purples. To enhance the piece's suppleness, the necklace features a diamond-set rope, evocative of the ropes once draped over trunks. In addition to the necklace, this theme is complemented by three rings, two pairs of earrings, and a precious brooch.

The Maison designed this magnificent jewelry set to celebrate the young Louis Vuitton's journey (l'avanture) across the 400 kilometers of roads and forests that separate the Jura region from Paris. In the necklace, the green of the finest Colombian emeralds—collected over three years to match—plays off against three rows of platinum, yellow gold, and white gold, all fully paved with diamonds. Each link features Damier marquetry inlaid with stones in four different settings, enhanced by Louis Vuitton cut diamonds and a 5.21-carat D-color, flawless, pear-shaped diamond of exceptional color and clarity. This necklace, which can be worn six ways, took more than 1,600 hours of work to create. Completing this theme are three rings, a sensual bracelet, and two pairs of earrings, including one set with exceptional stones: a Colombian emerald and two 3.19-carat D-color, flawless, Type IIa, pear-shaped diamonds.

"Arrow"

The "Arrow" theme, featuring unparalleled craftsmanship and gemstones, is a metaphor for Louis Vuitton's travels and an interpretation of the letter "V" in his last name. The necklace's centerpiece features a three-tone "V" set with rubies, sapphires, and diamonds, evoking the emblem worn by his grandson, Gaston-Louis Vuitton III. Like a rare scarf, the necklace twists and curves around the neckline, punctuated by a 2.61-carat D-color, Internally Flawless, Type IIa Louis Vuitton-cut diamond and a magnificent 26-carat royal blue sapphire from Sri Lanka. Featuring an elegant shape and lavish diagonal pavé setting, the necklace—which can be worn three ways—was designed and crafted into a central piece, including a solitaire ring set with an extremely rare 18.62-carat velvety blue sapphire.

"Le Meet"

A young Louis Vuitton from the Jura region laid the foundations of his Maison by creating trunks that bore his name, and patented the famous canvas that covered them. "Le Mete" (Myth) is an exquisitely luxurious piece that combines several emblematic Louis Vuitton signatures—Damier (checkerboard), studs, a motif inspired by trunk locks, rope, and Monogram flowers. Set within a diamond pavement, this triple-strand necklace adorns three ethereal, flawless sugarloaf-cut gemstones: a divinely beautiful 19.70-carat royal blue-type sapphire from Sri Lanka, an 8.64-carat Colombian emerald with a rich, bright green color, and a striking, velvety 7.11-carat Madagascar sapphire. Positioned as the collection's centerpiece, this piece can be worn in 12 different ways and is exceptionally flexible—definitely crafted. It took more than 1,300 hours of work to complete "Le Meat," including the necklace and matching bracelet, ring, and earrings.

"La Passion"

Inspired by "maltages," the diamond-shaped lining inside trunks, this lattice necklace is another Francesca Amfitheatrof signature piece. The signature "La Passion" necklace is crafted in white gold set with diamonds and 75 precious round brilliant-cut rubies. Designed to feel like a second skin, the necklace is articulated and flexible. Three intense red Mozambican rubies (5.03 carats, 3.52 carats, and 2.24 carats) add a fiery sparkle. The model features a double diamond rope at the base, set with a 3.29-carat Louis Vuitton cut diamond at the center. The same theme was also replicated in a cuff bracelet, two rings and a pair of earrings.

Le Tumbler

In 1890, the Maison invented the theft-resistant tumbler lock. This is the first time that this patented lock has become the focal point of a High Jewelry piece. The tumbler lock is realized as a diamond-set clasp adorned with a cerulean-blue Santa Maria-type aquamarine weighing approximately 24 carats. The tumbler lock sparkles elegantly off-center in this multicolored necklace, which brings together all the colors of the Earth, evoking a rainbow. The vibrant and exhilarating color palette of more than 130 colored stones—aquamarine, citrine, tourmaline, peridot, amethyst, iolite, and rhodolite—is spectacular. A dazzling bracelet, earrings, and rings complete the matching jewelry set.

La Stare du Nord

©Laziz Hamani
A signature piece of Louis Vuitton's High Jewelry collections for years to come, this diamond choker is a metaphor for the "good star" that lit the way for our hero, the young Louis Vuitton, and guided him on his journey. The two diamond strands, a refined and graphic design, are accented with a knot inspired by the sangles found inside the trunks. Louis Vuitton's High Jewelry Atelier has sewn a striking Monogram Flower onto a white gold knot. It features a Louis Vuitton Star-cut, 10.07-carat D-color, Internally Flawless, Type IIa diamond. Boasting exceptional clarity, the stone can also be worn as a ring. La Stare du Nord (The North Star) is truly transformable. The choker is also available with matching earrings, a ring, and a bracelet. Inspired by the night sky, this jewelry set serves as the epilogue to the collection and a star illuminating Louis Vuitton's journey, revealing the path to a brighter future.
