■ "this year's model (special edition)" by Itami Go
Itami Go has attracted attention as a new generation photographer with his experimental works that explore the effects and nature of the photography medium itself.
His photo book "this year's model," published in 2014, features a surprising structure, with two acrylic panels on the front and back covers and two interchangeable photographic images attached to the cover. Itami's sharp photographs, which transform the real world before his eyes into two-dimensional images with his camera, are further enhanced by the acrylic cover. "This Year's Model" transcends the framework of a photobook and is a work of art in itself. The collection won the 27th Photography Society Award. And this summer, "This Year's Model (Special Edition)" will be released. In addition to the photobook, it will also include a signed, editioned print sandwiched between acrylic panels. The print, sandwiched between custom-made acrylic panels engraved with the book's title, can be displayed as is. To commemorate the release, NADiff A/P/A/R/T is hosting a small exhibition of Itami's work. We invite you to witness this new endeavor: dismantling the special edition and reassembling the photographs.
