Photo festival "STEP OUT!" hosted by "IMA" will be held, featuring a photo flea market and impromptu productions.

Aug 13, 2015

"STEP OUT!", a photo festival hosted by photography magazine IMA, will be held at Daikanyama Hillside Forum in Aoyama, Tokyo, from August 18th to 23rd.
Now in its third year, "STEP OUT!" is a special event born from "STEP OUT!", a special publication by IMA showcasing Japanese photographers. In addition to the annual portfolio review, the event also features exhibitions and talk events, allowing visitors to enjoy photography from multiple angles.
Throughout the festival, a group exhibition titled "New Japanese Photographers: Emerging Japanese Photographers Vol. 2" will be held throughout the festival, featuring five emerging photographers: Mariko Oya, Harumi Shimizu, Kenya Sugai, Midoki Nakano, and Atsushi Momoi.
The flea market "IMA Photo Market!" will be held on August 22nd and 23rd, bringing together notable photographers, publishers, distributors, bookstores, and others to sell eccentric merchandise and photo book collections.

Also on the 22nd, there will be a talk show titled "Photography Without Borders" by photographers Kawashima Kotori and Okuyama Yoshiyuki, as well as an improvisational photo book production performance by the duo "Effect Twin." On the 23rd, there will also be events such as a seminar by writer and curator Bruno Kechel titled "Expanding the Possibilities of Photobooks Through Self-Publishing."
