In its October issue, released on August 20th, international fashion magazine Harper's BAZAAR will feature a special feature called "ICONS by Carine Roitfeld & Jean Paul Goude," transforming nine "icons" from the entertainment and fashion worlds into historical legends. The feature, published in Harper's BAZAAR, which is published in 31 countries, was photographed by Jean-Paul Goude, known for his work on CHANEL advertising visuals and Grace Jones album photos. Jean-Paul Goude is an image maker who creates unique images of people using a variety of techniques, including illustration, photography, and video. This time, eight modern-day "icons" are transformed into historical legends, creating a fantasy world of fashion. Mariah Carey is transformed into Marie Antoinette. The photos show the icons swinging and sending their shoes flying against a backdrop of lush natural scenery. Other participants include Jessica Chastain as Joan of Arc, France's national heroine; Oprah Winfrey as the Good Witch of the North from "The Wizard of Oz"; and Chris Lee as Coco Chanel. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley transformed into legendary fashionista Diana Vreeland. Other notable participants include Katy Perry, Dakota Johnson, Lucky Blue, and Willow Smith. Additionally, from August 24th to 30th, special postcards featuring photos of the icons will be available at Tokyo Metro stations Ginza, Omotesando, Tokyo, Shinjuku, and Yurakucho. The magazine's online site will also be hosting a vote for the most popular icons from August 20th to September 17th. The voter with the winning photo will be entered into a drawing to win a luxurious prize. In addition to the same feature, the October issue also features the first interview with singer and actress Jazmine Grace Grimaldi, who is Grace Kelly's granddaughter and the illegitimate child of Prince Albert II of Monaco, and has attracted worldwide attention. She talks about her life in New York and her stay in Monaco.
