The film "Martin Margiela: A Tale of Two Worlds" will be released nationwide starting September 17th. Martin Margiela was a designer who constantly challenged the aesthetic values of his time and deconstructed the very concept of clothing. Throughout his career, he never appeared in public, and refused all interviews or photo shoots, maintaining his anonymity.

Director Reiner Holzemer won the trust of Margiela, who was thought to be impregnable, and, under the condition that it was "exclusively for this documentary," he reveals for the first time private records such as drawings, extensive notes, and the first Barbie doll clothes he made himself. He also talks about everything from the influence of his grandmother, a dressmaker, to his time as an assistant to Jean-Paul Gaultier, the creation of his hit tabi boots, his appointment as designer for the global luxury brand Hermès, and his sudden retirement at the age of 51. This is a rare documentary in which Margiela himself speaks on camera about his unparalleled career and creativity.

The stills released this time offer a glimpse into the mysterious secrets of his work, from runway images from his debut show to the cork necklace, one of Margiela's signature early pieces, the signature white stitching on the four corners, and scenes from his atelier. In addition to the first Barbie doll outfit he made, which he himself reveals "already has a Margiela feel," rare shots from past collections have also been released.
