Nike launched the "Beautiful X Powerful Collection" for women on October 6th. The collection celebrates the remarkable progress made in women's marathon running, beginning with Jon Benoit Samuelson's victory in the first-ever women's marathon in Los Angeles in 1984. Jon Benoit Samuelson's achievements, along with her famous phrase, "There is no finish line," have been a major driving force for Nike. This collection, a first for Nike, is inspired by female athletes and their challenges and achievements as they push beyond their limits. The collection reinterprets four iconic models—the Cortez, Air Max, Presto, and Huarache—to reflect the meaning of the phrase, "There is no finish line." The collection's design makes use of speed stripes inspired by Jon Benoit Samuelson's victory run after the race and his appearance during the race, as well as jacquard woven material.
All four models are available in a "Premium Leather" model and a "Jacquard" model, both of which are unified in black coloring. They will be available on NIKE.COM and at Nike retailers. The Jacquard model is scheduled to be released on December 1st.
